Every client gets a printed proof

Screens flatter colour. Paper tells the truth, so we print before we sign anything off.

Before any identity is signed off, we post the client a box. Inside are business cards, a letterhead, a tag and a sheet of the colours on the paper they will actually use.

Why paper still matters

Colours that look right on a screen often print muddy. A logo that works at 400 pixels can fall apart at twelve millimetres, and nobody finds out until the first order of cards arrives.

The box costs us about ninety euros to make and post. It has saved at least three print runs that would have cost the client far more.

When it arrives

We ask clients to open it at their own desk, under their own lights, and to leave it out for a day before they reply.

The first reaction is to the box. The useful one comes the next morning.

Most changes after the proof are small, like a paper weight or a shade of red. Those are easy to fix now and expensive to fix later.
